ALYS entry

Alys' design is based on the Rococo, an artistic movement born in France in the XVIIIth century which affected music, painting and fashion among other aspects of the arts at the time. One of the main features of this style is the preference for brilliant, soft and light colours. Based on that, the colour palette used in the design of Alys follows those patterns.

Since the dress is inspired by classic Rococo dresses, I have used tulle fabrics and elements such as the necklace and the corset. In order to avoid a look which could remind of Nabokov's Lolita or MAYU, I decided to mix the Rococo style with something more futuristic and virtual. Colourful neon lights tie the dress on the sides and on the chest. Those neon lights can also be seen on the boots, which resemble a pentagram once they have been tied.

Apart from what I have said, I wanted the subject of the design to be art, painting, and that is the reason why this Vocaloid is wearing the seven colours of the rainbow on the tulle of the skirt, on the neon lights, on the headphones... These seven colours come from light being reflected, and I am using this to express a metaphor: 'Alys is a blank canvass and her voice the seven colours of the rainbow with which the fandom will paint their world'. Some particular things about this design are, for example, the three specks on her eyes, coloured after the three primary colours (cyan, magenta and yellow) or the rainbow streak on her hair, which changes colour depending on the kind of song and the feelings expressed in it. I decided on brown for the hair as a nod to the colour of the voice provider.
I went through all the covers by Poucent and I realised that her voice is normally really soft and sweet, though sometimes she can make it sound firm and mature. I tried to convey that with my design. Her semi-transparent skirt can show the seven colours of the rainbow.
